Tribute

Melvin William Krizak, 93, of Baytown, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2020. He was born on May 2, 1927, in Baytown, Texas, to the late Melvin and Annie Ptacek Krizak. Melvin attended Robert E. Lee High School. Upon completing the 11th grade, he was drafted into the Military where he finished his high school education. He proudly served with the Army in World War II. Later he would further his education by attending Saint Thomas University. He was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Baytown.

Melvin pursued many interests, some of which included spending time with his precious family, being outdoors where he grew pineapples and gardening. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman. In his younger days, Melvin raised parakeets. Everyone knew Melvin as the community handyman - he was the type of person who never said no to anyone. In fact, he would give the shirt off of his back for someone who needed it.

Melvin was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend to all who knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife Dorothy T. Krizak; and his son-in-law Rene Daniel Madrid. He leaves behind to cherish his loving memory his children Michael Krizak, Peggy Madrid, Ann Dawson; his grandchildren Brandy Smith, Jay Dawson, Brett Dawson, Rebecca Hinton, Sarah Spencer; his great-grandchildren Reed Dawson, Harper Dawson, Cullen Dawson, Alexandria Hinton, Gavin Hinton, Sybil Hammonds, Jarret Hammonds, Trevor Smith; his siblings Eugene Krizak, Daniel Krizak, Catherine Jamison and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Honoring the family by serving as pallbearers will be Jarret Hammonds, Tim Krizak, Christopher Hinton, John Krizak, Trevor Smith, William Krizak, Gary Rossow, and Brett Dawson.
