Nancy Jo Tumey

October 16, 1941 ~ September 9, 2022 (age 80) 80 Years Old

Tribute

Nancy Jo Tumey (Gurnie/Granny) passed away on Friday September 9 2022. Born October 16, 1941 in Austin Texas to Wickline Robert Tumey and Edna Maxine Tumey. She had two brothers and was the youngest child. Nancy grew up in Austin Texas and graduated from McCallum 
High School 1959. Nancy has 3 daughters and 1 son.

She worked for Texas Employment Commission and Texas Workforce Commission for 31 years Nancy loved the color purple, all sports but her favorites were the Texas Longhorns, Astros and Texans. She had a passion for all animals and loved her dogs (especially her weenie dogs and and granddogs dearly). She loved feeding the birds and watching them from her patio window especially the hummingbirds. Mom loved country music and Elvis Presley. Her car radio station was tuned into Elvis. She loved playing games with her family and friends especially UNO.

Nancy was a breast Cancer Survivor and participated many years in Bavtown Relay for Life.

Nancy is survived by her 4 children daughter Rhonda Scott and husband Randy, daughter Julie Crooks, daughter Vicki Asp and husband David, and son Michael McCracken and wife Charity. Her grandchildren Robert & Alyssa Scott, Ryan & Kassie Scott, Justin & Erin Crooks, Misti Crooks & Jessica McCoy, Landon & LaChanda Crooks, Brian & Abbey Asp, Andrew Asp, Caleb Asp, Sarah McCracken,  Shane McCracken and Emily Wallace.

Her great grandchildren Barrett Scott, Maverick Scott, Levi Scott, Gus Crooks, Charlie Crooks, Camden Crooks, Brady Crooks, Daven Asp and Taylin Asp.
Her Brothers Carl Tumey and wife June and Brother Corky Tumey. Numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and lots of friends. We would especially thank her neighbors Jim and Norma Cochran for always helping her, and  looking out for her. Thank you Pastor Robb and members of River Point for your meals, your prayers and your friendship and love for our Mom (Gurnie/Granny). Armando thank you for coming to her house every week and fixing her hair and making her feel beautiful. We know she is in the presence of Our Lord and will be forever in our hearts. Love you Gurnie
