Nettie Katy (Jones) Horton

Nettie Kate “Katy” Toups Horton- age 94 went to be with the Lord Sunday September 29, 2019 in Baytown. Katy was born in Eastgate, Texas August 20, 1925 the daughter of the late Claude Jones and Beulah Horton Jones. Katy grew up in Waller, Texas and was one of eleven children. She married Welton “Pops” Toups and raised her three children in Baytown, where she became a hairdresser and worked for thirty years. Katy could do anything, and do it well. She was an excellent seamstress, cook, painter, and could make any craft she saw. Katy devoted her life to her family and worshipped her children. She was active in the both the Catholic and Baptist Church of Huffman and was loved by all who met her.  Katy was preceded in death by her parents, husband Welton “Pops” Toups, husband Garland Horton, and her beloved son Gary Toups. She leaves behind to cherish her memory sisters Claudia Wilcox, Earline Light, Geraldine Riles, and a brother Bill Jones. Daughters Deborah Wilson and Jamie Burns (Kenneth), and Carolyn Toups. In addition, she leaves her grandchildren: Michelle Ford (Ed); Paige Stevens (Troy); Jason Faulk; Eric Burns; Stassi Bryant; Blake Bryant; Tiffany Toups; and Chantelle Marquis (Randy). Great Grandchildren: Brenton Ford; Brooke McKee (Anthony);Katelyn and Kaden Faulk; Caleb Stevens; Joseph Stevens; Jessie Stevens; Alison Sumrall (James); Jonna Lee (Evan); Mica Beckman (Andrew); Devin Bryant (Samantha); Brayden Bryant; Savannah and Presley Marquis. Great-great Grandchildren; Cambrie; Wesson; J.J.; Gage; and Holden. She is also survived by the loving children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren of Garland Horton as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and countless friends. A memorial service for Katy will be held 2PM Sunday October 6, 2019 at Sterling White Funeral Home, 11011 Crosby Lynchburg Rd. Highlands, Texas. Friends and family may gather one hour prior to the service. The family would also like to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the caring staff of Rolling Brook Nursing Home.
