Norman H. Stewart

June 17, 1932 ~ November 3, 2021 (age 89)


Norman Havens Stewart, 89, of Highlands, Texas, peacefully passed away surrounded by his family on Wednesday, November 4, 2021. He was born in Gossport, Louisiana on June 17, 1932 to his parents, Don T. Stewart and Verla Havens Stewart. Norman worked as a Truck Driver and once he retired, he went on to own his own tree service company. Norman was a firm believer in the lord and a longtime member of First Apostolic Church in Highlands. He enjoyed bluegrass music and going to different festivals. Norman will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Norman is preceded in death by his first wife, Mertis Lou Burnett Stewart; parents, Don and Verla Stewart; sons, Norman Boyd Stewart and Quinton LaRay Stewart; sister, Genelle Hart.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Emma Lou Parker Stewart; sons, Gary D. Stewart and wife Ann, Theron W. Stewart and wife Debra, and Danny P. Stewart and wife Tena; daughter-in-law, Bonnie Stewart; grandchildren, Doug Stewart, Jason Stewart, Amanda Springer, Alicia Clevenger, Audrey Davis, Brian Stewart, Emily Warren, Jamie Land, and Jarod Stewart; many great-grandchildren; siblings, Donna Burnett, Thad Stewart, and Thelma Stewart; and a host of extended family and friends.

Serving the family as pallbearers are Doug Stewart, Jason Stewart, Brian Stewart,  Bryan Davis, Shelby Warren, Jarod Stewart, Michael Land, and Billy Crockett.

Friends are invited to visit with the family from 8:00am to 10:00am on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at First Apostolic Church 1211 S Main St. Highlands, Texas. Funeral services will begin at 10:00am. A graveside service will be held at 3:30pm in Magnolia Cemetery in Ragley, Louisiana.
