Oleta Mae Marsh

Oleta Mae Marsh, “Teta”, 79, passed away on Monday, November 11, 2019. She was born on July 14, 1940 in Austin, Texas to Ernest Elmer Cavness and Odessa Mae Watson Cavness. Oleta met her husband, Robert “Bobby”  Neil Marsh, in Pasadena, and they were married for 43 years. Although Teta gave birth to two daughters, she and Bobby fostered Jenny and Jacqueline Vice, happy to share their home with the girls during their high school years. Teta was blessed to have special relationships with her niece, Patti Rae Wheat, and with her nephew, Michael Craig Cavness, both of whom were there at a moment’s notice whenever she needed them. She was very devoted to her family and was a wonderful daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Neil Marsh; parents, Ernest and Odessa Cavness; daughter, Rebecca Lyn Kendrick; son-in-law, William Robert Kendrick; granddaughter, Kaycee Ann Kendrick; sister, Stella Wynell Martin; brothers, Edward Ray Cavness and Leslie Ward Cavness.

Oleta is survived by her daughter, Leslie Ann McMahon and husband Frank; grandson, Alex Neil Kendrick and wife Krystle; adopted grandson, Sgt. David Belgard and wife Meghan, along with their children, Alena and Stryder; brothers, Joe Douglas Cavness and wife Connie, and Terry Lee Cavness; many beloved nieces and nephews.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2019 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at First Baptist Church of Crosby, 615 Runneburg Rd, Crosby, TX 77532. Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Friday, November 15, 2019 at First Baptist Church of Crosby. Interment will follow in Black Jack Cemetery in Henderson, Texas, on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at 1:00pm.
