December 2, 1941 ~ September 5, 2023 (age 81) 81 Years Old

Tribute

Paul Calvin Cargill Sr., “PawPaw”, passed away peacefully in his Highlands home on September 5, 2023, after fighting a long battle with cancer. He was born on December 2, 1941, in Easterly, TX.

Paul was preceded in death by his father Paul Edward Cargill. He is survived by his mother Gladys Ellen Meadors of New Baden, his sister Wanda Fay Cargill of New Baden, his brother Jack Cargill and partner Rafaela Robles of Los Fresnos, his brother Robert James Puckett and wife Christine of San Antonio, his son Corey Cargill and wife Stephanie Cargill of Kernersville, NC, his daughter Audrey Plazinich of Houston, his son Kenneth Cargill and wife Tina Cargill of Jonestown, his son Paul Cargill Jr and wife Carla Cargill of Houston, and his precious grandchildren Austin and Avery Cargill and Wesley Cargill.

Paul was a proud veteran of the US Army. As a young adult he worked as a truck driver for many years and was also the owner of a few clubs. He loved listening to the blues and was a Texan football fan and Astros baseball fan. He lived a simple life and was a man of integrity, honesty, and hard work. Many will remember him driving his orange mower, always outside working in his yard, or sitting outside in his chair smoking his cigarette. But he will mostly be remembered as PawPaw to his precious grandchildren Austin and Avery. He spent all the time he possibly could with them and always brought them goodies on every visit. Whether it was playing in the sand, singing and dancing to music, reading books, teaching them colors, shapes, counting, etc., he was constant entertainment for his grandbabies, and they never heard the word “no” from their PawPaw. He truly loved them more than anything else in the world.

Paul Sr. loved the Lord with all his heart. He was a fighter all the way to his last breath on earth. He will be missed greatly by all who loved him. The family would like to thank his caregiver, Tina Marie Anderson, for the compassion and dedication you gave to Pawpaw over the last year and in his final days.
