Peggy Lou Fite, 76, of Crosby, Texas, passed away on Friday, September 3, 2021 at her home. She was born September 6, 1944 in Dayton, Ohio to parents Herbert Sumner and Katherine Lipps Sumner who preceded her in death along with her son Richard Fite; and sister Fay Wilmoth.
Peggy was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. A few of her passions in life included bowling, softball, crafts, traveling, baking, and making lasting memories. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Peggy leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughters Janet Shanley, Sheila Back and husband Steven; granddaughters Misty Goodman and husband Matt, Lyndsey Gonzalez and husband Johnny, and Heather Rollings; grandsons Daniel Lucas, Jeffrey Jasonis, and Zachery Shanley along with several loving great-grandchildren and other family members and friends.
A visitation for Peggy will be held 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Sterling-White Funeral Home, Highlands, Texas. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Sterling-White Funeral Home with interment to follow in Sterling-White Cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers will be Hunter Goodman, Macauley Stewart, Matt Goodman, Johnny Gonzalez, Isiah Wilmouth, Tony Sumner, Scott Wilmouth, and Steven Back. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Sumner, Charles Sumner, and Ronnie Mainord.
