Perina Fuselier Holland

Perina Holland was born on January 9, 1928 in Prairie Laurent, Louisiana to Taylor and Anastasia Fuselier. At the age of 89, she passed away on September 26, 2017. 

In 1947, Perina married Alvin Auzenne and became the parents of 3 sons.  After the death of Alvin, she later married Leo D. Holland in 1954,  a soldier in the U.S. Army, where they  became the parents of 2 more children. 

From this union began the life of a military wife, which she mastered and loved.  After 22 years of military life they moved to Baytown, Texas where she began a new career with Goose Creek ISD and eventually retired. 

In her free time Perina enjoyed quilting, gardening, sewing, baking, cooking, and most of all spending time with her family and friends.  She was a very strong, loving, and caring woman who believed in faith and family and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Auzenne; parents, Taylor and Anastasia Fuselier; husband, Leo D. Holland; sister, Verina Kennerson and grandson, Aaryn Blackwell. 

Perina is survived by her brother Perry Fuselier; four sons, Floyd Auzenne and wife Priscilla; Harvey Thaddeus Auzenne, Jerrold Auzenne and wife Barbara, Timothy Holland and wife Blanca; one daughter, Pamela Johnson and husband Nathan; grandchildren, Gregory and wife Jennifer, Brian, Michelle and husband Tyrus, Danielle, Michael, Melanie and husband Marcellus, Evan and wife Nazli; Timothy; nine great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

On Saturday, September 30, 2017, visitation will be held from 9 - 10 am, rosary at 10 am and a mass of Christian Burial at 11 am,  all at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 800 W. Baker Rd., Baytown, Texas.   Burial services have been entrusted to Sterling-White Funeral Home, 11011 Crosby-Lynchburg Rd., Highlands, Texas, 77562.
