Raymond Edward Hobbs, 81, passed away on Monday, July 5, 2021 at his home in Baytown, Texas. Raymond was born September 6, 1939 in New Waverly, Texas to parents Charles Luther Hobbs and Nannie Myrtle Owen Hobbs who preceded him in death along with his wife, Nina Marie Hobbs; granddaughter, Bridgette Nicole Hobbs; step-daughter, Robin Normington; along with 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
Raymond was a caring, giving man with a strong and silent demeanor. He enjoyed fishing and tinkering with fixing things such as lawn mowers and just about anything he could find to work on. Raymond loved his family dearly; especially his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and his dog Peanut.
Mr. Hobbs is survived by his wife, Anna Hobbs; son, Ricky Hobbs and wife Eva; step-daughters, Rosie Leimer, Patty Blair and husband Warren; his beloved dog, Peanut; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family of Mr. Hobbs would like to extend a special thank you to Amanda Ray with Ascend Hospice who he lovingly referred to as “Gertrude” for the love, care, and compassion she gave to him.
Visitation for Raymond will take place 12 pm – 2 pm, Monday, July 12, 2021 in the chapel of Sterling-White Funeral Home, Highlands, Texas with services to begin at 2 PM. Interment will follow at Sterling-White Cemetery. Serving the family as pallbearers will be Darrell Milligan, Chance Kelly, Derrick Lawrence, Warren Blair, Norman Rouse, Chance Kelly, Jr., and Caleb Kelly. Honorary pallbearer is Ed Taylor.
