Raymond Holub, 92, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 31, 2017. He was born on October 17, 1924 in Rosenberg, Texas to John Joe Holub Jr. and Albina Barcak Holub. He worked for Texas Gulf Sulfur as a heavy equipment operator until he retired. Raymond honorably served his country in the Army during World War II and the Korean conflict. He was a member of the 17th and 82nd airborne, received a bronze star and was honorably discharged. Raymond was a strong, kind, and caring man who never met a stranger. Raymond enjoyed traveling, playing cards and dominos, and especially spending time with his friends at the Crosby American Legion Post 658 and Baytown V.F.W. Post 912. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Ann; his parents; and sister, Margaret Woodson.
Raymond is survived by his daughter, Melinda St. Clair and husband Dowe St. Clair; granddaughter, Amanda Otten and husband Eric Otten; great-grandchildren, Luke Otten and Alice Otten; brother-in-law Anton Roeder and wife Ann; and other relatives and friends.
Raymond’s family would like to express their deepest gratitude to Faith Community Hospice, Crosby American Legion Post 658, Baytown V.F.W. Post 912, special friends Darcy Housewright and Dwayna Ensle, and those who made it possible for him to be at home. A special thank you to his caregivers, Aretha Owens, Joanna Quintera, Gary Alston and wife Jenifer, and to all his friends and neighbors that have visited at this time.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Monday, June 5, 2017 from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm at Sterling-White Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at 10:00 am also at Sterling White Funeral Home. Interment will be in Sterling White Cemetery.
