Richard L. Vickers

Richard L. Vickers, 80 years old, of Baytown, Texas passed peacefully on the morning of September 6, 2020.

Richard was born in Monticello, Arkansas.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Willie Claude Reagan, his step-father Jack Reagan, wife Daisy Marie Vickers, and sister Nettie Turley.

Richard was married to Daisy Carpenter on June 13th, 1959 and was married for 51 years until Daisy’s death in 2010.  Richard and Daisy had two sons, Stephen L. Vickers and Raymond C. Vickers.  Richard loved hunting, fishing and 4-wheeler riding.

Richard is survived by his sons, Stephen and Raymond, their spouses, Lisa Vickers and Patricia Vickers, Grandchildren, Sonja Otwell, Shelby Vickers, Ryan Vickers, Cassondra Oliver, and Alex Vickers as well as his many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  He is also survived by his sister, Naomi Taylor.

In his early years Richard worked on a seismograph crew but later learned welding as his trade and worked at several companies including Brown & Root, Fish Engineering and finished his career at Ohmstede in La Porte, Tx.

Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, September 16th, 2020 at 11 am at Second Baptist Church of Highlands, 400 E. Wallisville Rd., Highlands, Texas 77562.  Lunch to follow.
