Sammy Earl Hanson

Sammy Earl Hanson 77 of Highlands, Texas went to be with the Lord on October 19, 2018 after a brief illness.

He was born in Baytown, Texas on March 15, 1941.  He is preceded in death by his father Sybil E. Hanson, mother Jackie Louise Hanson and brother Michael D. Hanson. He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Judy Hanson, son Danny E Hanson and wife Shana. Grandchildren Ryan Hanson, Haley Hanson, Summer Hanson and great grandson Jase Taylor Hanson, step granddaughter Haley Boone and a host of family and friends.

Sammy was a strong willed person and very hard worker.  Give him a welding machine and a piece of steel and he could build anything. He enjoyed gardening, hunting and fishing with his best friend, his son, Danny. He also enjoyed restoring old cars. Sammy was a very kind and caring person and will be greatly missed, especially by the love of his life, Judy.  He met her when she was 16 and they have been married 52 years.

He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and was very  proud of the way they have grown up and became loving and caring adults. His faithful companion, Murphy, was constantly by his side and he is already missing his “daddy”

Sammy was a member of the Masonic Lodge Huffman No. 1428. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at Sterling White Funeral Home 11011 Crosby Lynchburg Rd. Highlands on Wednesday October24, 2018 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. followed by a Memorial service in Sterling white Funeral Home. Interment will be private.
