Scot Christopher Hux, age 61, departed this world Sunday, March 25th. Born October 9, 1956 in Sumter, SC to his parents Pentley and Anna Hux, Scot grew up in a variety of places across the country, to include Alabama, Minnesota, California, and Maryland, where he ultimately attended high school at Wilde Lake High School in Columbia.
Scot was a man of great passion. He had a deep-rooted love for fishing, his favorite football team – the Washington Redskins, Civil War history, researching his ancestry, and listening to “the Blues.” However, his deepest passion was his family. Everything Scot did, he always had his family’s best interest at heart. His family was what he cherished most in life. He was a loving and doting husband, an incredible father, and an extremely proud and attentive grandfather who showered his grandchildren with all the love and affection he had to offer.
Scot spent the majority of his adult life working in the industrial and hydraulic hose industry. He was among the most knowledgeable of those in his field with over 35 years of experience. He continued to consult in the field up until his final days.
Scot was preceded by both his parents, Pentley and Anna Hux. He is survived by his loving wife, Estrella Hux; daughter, Christina Hux; son, Christopher Hux; daughter, Lisa Kemery and husband, Chris; son, Gary Benedetto and wife, Ashlie; his 6 loving grandchildren, Dylan, Colin, Aidan, Willow, River, and Wesley; and his brother, Peter and wife, Koreen.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society in his honor.
