Sidney Michael Guidry “Coon” was born May 30, 1946 in Jennings, Louisiana to Florence and Lee Guidry.

Passed away Sept. 24th, 2020 at home in Highlands, Texas, at the age of 74.

Preceded in death by his parents and brother Collins Guidry.

Survived by the Love of his life, Elizabeth Smith, Children Chrissie (Keith) O’Neill and Brian (Holly) Guidry.

Grandkids, Stormi and Hannah O’Neill, Laici Rucka, Savannah Guidry and Brayden Guidry, and all the Smith Family.

He was born a real cowboy and rode bulls till one put a plate in his cheek.  He then enlisted in the U.S. Navy and trained in Key West, Florida on a submarine.

Mike was employed as a crane operator and traveled the country working construction jobs.

He loved his kids and grandkids and made sure every kid in Highlands got to go to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo where he was a lifetime member due to his many volunteer hours.

He was the life of the party in all his costumes to make you laugh, astronaut suit, tennis shoe cowboy boots, the tall straw hat, mullet cap and his coonskin cap along with his coon joke.

Mike loved to dance to Cajun music, his drinking buddies, his horses, the National Finals Rodeo in Las Vegas and most of all Elizabeth and his family.

“Laissez les bon temps rouler”

 “Let the good times roll.”
