Susan Ann Popham

Susan Ann Popham, 76, of Crosby TX passed away March 14th, 2023. She was born December 16, 1946, in San Diego, CA. She is survived by her Daughter Kelly Hood of Highlands, TX, Sister Peggy Lee Johnson of Grove, OK, Grandson Bryce Stratford and wife Racheal of La Porte, TX, granddaughter Hayley Fort and husband Ronny of Baytown, TX. She also leaves behind her great grandchildren Jordan, Grayson, Camden, Dylynn, and Declan as well as her best friend Tom Vought of Fort Worth, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents Owen and Eileen Popham and son-in-law Wayland Hood.

Susan was the perfect example of someone who never met a stranger. Wherever she went she would find new friends. Within minutes of meeting someone they wanted to be friends with her. Who could blame them? Her smile and laughter were infectious. If there was anyone who could make you feel happy or welcomed it was her. She was an amazing woman who had the biggest heart for everyone.  People and cats alike. She took in many cats throughout the years, they were drawn to her, they sensed safety within her. Some of the many things she loved was traveling and sports and somehow, she was able to combine the two. Whether it be going to Fort Worth with her Gate 5 gang to watch the NASCAR races or to Nebraska to watch the Huskers, she was always up for the adventure. One of the coolest adventures was going skydiving with her grandson. Another was having the opportunity to ride passenger around the track 4 times going 150+ mph at Texas Motor Speedway.  She was fearless, spontaneous, and an absolute spitfire.

A celebration of life will be held in her honor at the home of her grandson at 301 S Holmes St, La Porte TX 77571 on April 1st 2023 at 2:00pm
