William "Buck" Lee Loftin Sr

July 3, 1925 ~ August 21, 2017 (age 92) 92 Years Old

William Lee (Buck) Loftin  92, of Crosby, Texas went to be with the Lord on August 21, 2017.  Buck was born on July 3, 1925 in Bullard, Texas to John Kennedy and Lula Belle (McAnally) Loftin.  He served his country during WWII and was honorably discharged from the U.S. Army as a Staff Sargent. At 25 he was ordained as a deacon. He was a member and deacon of First Baptist Crosby for 59 years and loved serving the Lord. He witnessed to others as often as he could. When his children were young, Buck was an active participant in the 4-H, Crosby Fair & Rodeo and was a member of the Crosby School Board. He was known to be a strong worker and many young men learned a work ethic from his example. He was a strong man, known for being honest, fair, kind and generous and believed in doing things the right way. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working cows & bees but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kathryn “Kathy” Wright; and brother, John Kennedy Loftin, Jr.

Buck is survived by his wife of 70 years, Anne Loftin; sons, Bill Loftin and wife April, Marshall Loftin and wife Janis, Paul Loftin and wife Dana; daughter, Jane Loftin Barber and husband David; son in law, Stan Wright; sister, Mary Anne Tarrant; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Buck’s grandsons.

Due to the bad weather visitation and service times have changed. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday, September 8, 2017 from 4:00pm – 7:00pm, at Sterling-White Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 10:00 am at First Baptist Church Crosby, 615 Runneburg Rd, Crosby, TX 77532. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sterling-White Funeral Home, 11011 Crosby-Lynchburg Rd., Highlands, TX 77562. To offer the family condolences, please visit www.sterlingwhite.com.
