William Tucker Jackson

March 28, 1937 ~ September 9, 2022 (age 85) 85 Years Old

Tribute

William Tucker Jackson was born March 28,1937 in Nacogdoches, Texas to Odes Leroy Jackson & Tina Ludell (Collins) Jackson.  He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones and went to be with the Lord on September 9, 2022. 

Tucker grew up in Houmont Park in Northeast Houston and spent many summers in Nacogdoches with his grandparents.  He met and fell in love with his beloved wife, Sue (Hester) Jackson while attending C.E.King High School. They were married December 21,1956 during the Christmas holidays of Sue’s senior year of high school.

Tucker is preceded in death by his parents, Odes & Tina Ludel (Collins) Jackson and brothers, Teddy & Leroy Jackson.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife Sue Jackson of 65 years, his sister Mary Ponder, his daughter; Peggy Sue McCrary & husband Kim Darl McCrary, son William Mark Jackson & wife Kim Jackson, daughter Beth Anna Jacks & husband Grady Jacks Jr., daughter Robin Ludell Hartis & husband Richard Darby Hartis, III, granddaughter Dana Ann Williams & husband Denver Allan Williams & great grandsons Corbin Briggs Williams & Colton Brady Williams, granddaughter Tara Lynn Higham & husband Armon Nick Higham & great grandsons Maddox Tucker Higham & Hendrix Wayne Higham, great granddaughter Harlow Joan Higham & great grandsons Lennox John Higham & Liam Cary Higham, grandson, Dean Ross Nevedomsky & wife Jordan Marie Nevedomsky & great granddaughter Darcie Dean Nevedomsky & great grandson Scout Dylan Nevedomsky, grandson Dr. William Taylor Jackson & wife Dr. Niki Rose Jackson & great grandson William Alexander Jackson, granddaughter Hillary Elaine Pruneda & husband Joshua Daniel Pruneda & great granddaughter Avery Maddison Pruneda & great grandson, Jackson Ryan Pruneda, grandson Robert Tucker Modisette & his wife Vivian Modisette, great granddaughters Lilian Modisette, Abigail Modisette, Hannah Modisette & Hazel Modisette, grandson James Eric Jacks & Courtney Carpenter, great grandson Jase Jacks, grandson Russel Austin Jacks & wife Joanna Jacks, great grandson Preston Jacks & great granddaughter, Madelyn Jacks & granddaughter Rebecca Sue Bravo & husband Henry Bravo & great grandson Ethyn Bravo, granddaughter Sarah Jacks & grandson Ty Harris & wife Hailey Harris, granddaughter Kori Harris & bonus grandchildren Katelynn Hartis, Alexander Hartis, Laurali Hartis & Parker Hartis and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Tucker was in the National Guard Reserves as a Specialist E-5 of Company C 949th Ordnance Brigade. He was called to active duty during the Cuban Missile Crisis and was stationed in Fort Polk, Louisiana for a year.  After this time, Sue & Tucker raised their 3 older children in the Northeast Houston area where he worked as an electrician out of Local 716 I.B.E.W. After the youngest of his four children was born, they moved to Timpson, Texas where Tucker was a member of the Shelby County Sheriff's Posse and managed a ranch & tool equipment company.  Then they moved back to Houston and he continued to work as an electrician 65 years until 2002 when he retired. 

He loved God, his Country, nature, photography, the Houston Rockets and his dogs and most of all he loved his family dearly. He was very intelligent, even building his own computers. He enjoyed country gospel music that he played on his guitar.  He was well respected in his career and community. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.
