My friend for 56 years. My business partner and teammate with the Houston Redlegs that won the Houston City Amateur Baseball Championship. He was my fishing mate and spent many hours entertaining my children with stories from his youth in Tennessee. He could fry speckled trout that melted in your mouth. We had so many laughs that I wish I could tell them all. My life will always have an empty spot with out you.
My thoughts and prayers to all of “Wild Bills” family and friends

My how the memories have flooded my mind. I grew up with my Uncle Bill always around. I remember as a very small child his mom kept me and I would run down the hall and wake him up each morning. He was always around telling jokes, once on a trip to Nashville I would ask him just about every hour for the time, he would give me the time in rhyme. Holidays were always fun, he was always around. I loved him with all my heart. I know he is carrying on with all the McCanless men again, a reunion of hearts and souls. My memories with my Uncle Bill always puts a smile on my face. You were loved and you will be missed. RIP Uncle Bill.

I knew your family when you and Sharon were small children and you were known as Kitten. Such adorable girls and I was very fond of your parents. My condolences to all of you.

I loved Uncle Bill with all my heart. He was very special to me especially as I was growing up. He loved spending time with our family. He always had a smile, always made us laugh and no one could weave a tall tale like him! My dad (Bobby) was a close second. I will miss him forever and always. I suppose someday I can take comfort knowing he passed peacefully into the night without any drama or commotion. May you now enjoy your time with your parents and your siblings Uncle Bill. I’m certain there is a McCanless Road wherever y’all are.
