Willie Louis Shelton

Willie Louis "Bill" Shelton, 85, of Crosby, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, December 12, 2018. He was born on October 23, 1933 in Houston, Texas to Lola Mae Knous Shelton and Lewis William Shelton. On December 26, 1951, after being seriously wounded in combat in Korea, he married the love of his life, Betty Jo, and stood beside her until her death in 2011. He forsook many pleasures in life to always make sure his family was taken care of. This job he did well and completed with perfection. Mr Shelton was a machinist by trade but enjoyed working on and restoring automobiles. His greatest  passion was spending time with his family and helping others. These passions were surpassed only by his love for his Saviour, Jesus Christ.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jo Shelton; parents, Lola and Lewis Shelton; brother, Virgil Shelton; sister, Ann Wheeland; son, William Keith Shelton; and daughter, Karen Jo Shelton.

Willie is survived by his daughter, Sheila Roberts and husband Mark of Crosby, Tx; son, Greg Shelton of Crosby, Tx;  brothers, Leroy Shelton of El Campo, Tx and Joe Shelton of Kingwood, Tx; sisters, Carolyn Vackar and husband Larry of Houston, Tx, and Shirley Hensen and husband Homer of Conroe, Tx; six grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, along with a host of extended family and friends.

Honoring the family by serving as pallbearers will be Jason Roberts, Christopher Shelton, Keith Shelton, Blaine Berry, William Hollis, and David Couch.

A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, December18, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m at Sterling White Funeral Home. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at Sterling White Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Brookside Memorial Park, 13747 Eastex Freeway, Houston, Tx 77039 at 2:00p.m. Arrangements have been entrusted to Sterling-White Funeral Home, 11011 Crosby-Lynchburg Rd, Highlands, Texas.
