Manuel Thomas Lamb Jr., age 91, went to be with the Lord on Monday December 11, 2017. He was born in Kemp, Texas on December 25, 1925 to Pearl Francis Nelson Lamb and Manuel Thomas Lamb Sr. Thomas served our country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. During his service he was awarded the silver star. He enjoyed playing softball, dominoes; watching NASCAR, the Texans and Astros, visiting the Highlands Community Center on Fridays to listen to the music, but most of all spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was always a very kind and gentle person “the gentle giant” and will be loved and missed by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by his wife, Freeda Mae Lamb; his parents; his brother, Rayford Lamb and sisters, Edith Farmer and Bobbye Miller. He is survived by his children, Linda Powell (and husband, Robert) and Larry Lamb (and wife, Becky); his brother, Don Lamb and his grandchildren, Kenny Shuler (and wife, Jaime), Trace Shuler (and fiancé, Tiffany) and Michelle Hernandez (and husband, Pedro). Also survived by other relatives and many friends.
A visitation for family and friends will be held at Sterling-White Funeral Home 11011 Crosby-Lynchburg Rd. Highlands, on Friday morning December 15, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. followed by services in Sterling White Funeral Home Chapel. Private interment will be in Sterling White Cemetery.
